Night Raveler and the Heartbroken Uruguayans

Longtime GDC conference-buddy Daniel Benmergui made a game called Night Raveler and the Heartbroken Uruguayans (Java applet). It’s a small game, playable in a few minutes, and it’s based on the conceit that you are a Raveler, who can see the relationships between people. It’s your job to play with their relationships and see what the consequences are.

It’s a very aesthetically pleasing game, and mechanically it’s a bit like controlling the game of life, all about the cellular automata.

Daniel recently went indie. This game is a very good first sign that he’ll be making great stuff!!

Don’t worry, I’ll have a chance to misspell yours some time this year.

You’ll know why when it happens ;).
